RZ India strategy for melon development in Haryana
Rijk Zwaan India is set to improve the melon grower’s income in the state of Haryana by introducing the new ways of melon cultivation. To achieve this objective a training cum networking program was organized at Govt. Horticulture Training Institute, Karnal, Haryana in close coordination with the Department of Horticulture, Govt. of Haryana.
This program brought together officials from the Horticulture Dept. of Haryana, 85 growers & retail chain companies i.e. Reliance Fresh, Big Basket & Sahyadri Farm, etc.
Our technical team from North India shared the knowledge about low tunnel cultivation practices to the growers and strengthen the connection between growers & retail chains.
It was great participation & enthusiasm from all stakeholders in this training program.
Following are the key highlight of the session;
- The retail chains applauded the commitment of RZ India for providing the best technology & quality seeds. They were very positive to maintain healthy business relations with the company & our growers.
- A very welcome step was observed from the Govt. of Haryana in recognition of the contribution given by RZ India to introduce the new ways of melon cultivation in the state of Haryana and to improve the grower's income. B. S. Sehrawat, MD of Horticulture Dept. Haryana informed, “If any progressive grower wants to learn more about new technologies of cultivation outside India, Haryana Govt. will bear the expense of grower’s training.”
“Thanks to our colleagues for sharing their expertise & making this event successful. Growers & customers were happy & confident about RZ products.” Pratap Singh Rana (Area Manager, Haryana & Nepal)
