Dutch-based vegetable breeding company Rijk Zwaan officially opened a new location in De Lier, the Netherlands on May 18. This new Seed Quality Center (SQC) creates more room for growth and the application of new testing and research techniques related to seed quality.

Brassica Field Day at Langrian (India)
Rijk Zwaan India Organised Brassica field day On 20th December, 2017, at its Langrian (Near Malerkotla) station in Punjab. 73 Brassica customers from Punjab (ie 3 distributors, 20 Plant Raisers, 10 Dealers and 40 growers) attended the field day . The main objective of this field day was to show our Cauliflower Varieties Ponderet RZ, Bishop RZ, Puntoverde RZ (Romanesco), Broccoli :Tahoe RZ, White Cabbages : Toughma RZ and Oriema RZ, Kohl Rabi: Lech RZ, Morre RZ and Valturno RZ. In addition to Brassica Crops Melon Inthanon RZ, Egg Plant: Sharapova and Mini Cucumbers were shown to the customers.
Demo Days in India
220 growers from four southern states visited the demo early November at the field station of Rijk Zwaan India Seeds. This research and development facility is located at Garakahalli Village, not far from Bangalore in the Indian state Karnataka. Rijk Zwaan India Seeds conducted the demo/field days during three days to display different traits of new varieties.
Official opening of new breeding station in India
Rijk Zwaan officially opened their new breeding station in Garakahlli on February 20, 2017. By developing new varieties under local circumstances, Rijk Zwaan aims to improve food security in India and provide the growing population with high quality vegetables.

Retail Center now open for visitors
Rijk Zwaan has today officially opened its Retail Center in Berlin, Germany. The Retail Center is Rijk Zwaan’s latest step in further improving its service to retailers and identifying the right priorities for the company’s breeding programmes.
